Jacob’s Learning Ladder and Adventure Club is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. We are reviewed annually by this agency for the renewal of the license.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder and Adventure Club is licensed to operate from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Morning preschool is in session from 9:30 am to noon. Afternoon preschool meets 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

All teachers and staff are hired in compliance with the parameters of the Laws and Regulations for Licensing Preschools and Child Care Centers set forth by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Additionally, Jacob’s Learning Ladder teachers must have extended education in the early childhood field. Many of our staff have bachelor’s or associate’s degrees, or Child Development Associates (CDAs). We also employ college and high school students on a part-time basis, bringing educational diversity to the classroom.

The child/teacher ratio varies depending on the child’s age.

  • Toddler 1: one adult to five children
  • Toddler 2: one adult to seven children
  • B7 and B8: one adult to 10 children
  • B9 & B10: one adult to 12 children

Jacob’s Learning Ladder and Adventure Club provides opportunities for your child to learn and develop skills with others their own age through a well-balanced curriculum in a Christian atmosphere.

Activities are catered to, but not limited to, a child’s developmental needs. Our day includes activities that focus on development in language, social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual skills. This wide range of activities is implemented in the belief that children learn through play in a learning center environment.

Our curricula is supplemented by Handwriting Without Tears, Where Is My Community? series, The Best Me I Can Be series, Playful Songs & Bible Stories/Lively Bible Lessons for Preschoolers, and a weekly music and Chinese language class.

We feature a loving Christian atmosphere with a monthly Bible story integrated throughout the curricula as well as through prayer and songs.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Preschool and Adventure Club follows the decision of the Wichita School District USD 259 for closing during extreme weather conditions due to unsafe travel conditions. We remain open during extreme temperature closings. If we close, we publish a notice on our web site, our public Facebook page and our closed Facebook group.

One of our primary concerns is to ensure the health and wellness of every child in our care. To prevent the spread of illness we enforce our illness policy on every occasion. A child who shows evidence of illness may not attend Adventure Club or preschool.

Jacob’s Learning Ladder Preschool and Adventure Club does not provide care for ill children.

All parents are encouraged to have a back-up plan for picking sick children up immediately and staying with them until illness has ended. Children must be fever, diarrhea and vomit free (without aid of medication) for 24 hours before returning to school.

In addition, the program works closely with the Department of Health and Environment pertaining to the closing of the center due to illness. Further questions may be directed to the Early Childhood Office, 316.618.4189.

Rates are comparable to other local child care facilities. Please contact our Early Childhood Office, 316.618.4189, for more specific information.

No appointment is necessary. We encourage parents to visit any time during the day. All visitors must check in at the Welcome Desk just inside the double glass doors off the north parking lot. If you would prefer to make an appointment, please contact the center at 316.618.4189.
